Day in the Life:
Dimensional Quality Inspector — Smithville, TN 37166
When you arrive at our Smithville facility, you become the last line of defense between a great product and a returned shipment. With a metrology mindset and a sharp eye, you’ll verify that every component and finished good aligns with the standards our customers expect.
What You’ll DoExamine raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products to verify compliance with established quality criteria.
Record inspection outcomes with accuracy, maintaining thorough logs and traceable documentation.
Detect nonconformances and defects, and escalate findings promptly.
Partner with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions that resolve root causes.
Help create, refine, and roll out quality control procedures and SOPs.Participate in internal audits and support continuous improvement projects.
Keep current with industry standards and best practices in quality assurance.
What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent; QA-related certification is a plus.
Demonstrated experience as a quality inspector or similar role in manufacturing.
Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong analytical abilities.
Working knowledge of quality methodologies, standards, and SOPs.Comfort working independently and collaboratively across teams.
Clear, professional communication skills, verbal and written.
Hands-on proficiency with inspection instruments and gauges.
Your Toolkit & Expertise Quality inspection know-how; precision measurement and inspection
Troubleshooting and quality control data analysis SOP creation/use and visual inspection aids Blueprint reading and tape measure proficiency
Experience in a manufacturing setting
Shipping and receiving; warehouse operations
Loading/unloading vehicles; heavy material handling
Sealing/caulking; truck operations and load securement
Tools You’ll Use Measurement gauges
Calipers and micrometers
