Patient Care RN e pay range: $36.17/hr - $56.06/hr pay is based on skills and experience. Bayhealth Medical Center is Central and Southern Delaware’s healthcare leader with hospitals in Dover and Milford, and additional services in Smyrna and Milton.

Part Time 48 Hours

Shift: Nights

Salary range: 36.17 - 56.06 HOURLY

General Summary

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, professional nursing care to a specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
  • Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
  • Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
  • Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
  • Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
  • Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
  • Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
  • Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
  • Demonstrate standards of excellence with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement plans (where applicable).
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
  • All other duties as assigned within the scope of job responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
  • Credentials:
    Registered Nurse;
    Basic Life Support;
    Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification; ACLS/PALS may be required per manager’s direction. Commitment to seeking specialty certification within the indicated timeframe during interview.
  • Experience:

    Required – Experience in critical care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
  • Credentials:
    Relevant position certifications;
    Trauma Nursing Core Course Certification;
    Pediatric Advanced Life Support;
    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
  • Experience:

    as applicable.
