Introduction

The Division of Fish & Wildlife conserves and manages Delaware’s fish and wildlife and their habitats, and provides fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing and boating access on nearly 65,000 acres of public land.

Summary Statement

This position supports statewide deer management and Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) surveillance during the seasonal collection period. Collects and processes samples, assists with population surveys and data entry, and maintains sampling equipment and records. Coordinates with partners, taxidermists, and hunters to ensure accurate data and effective program operations.

Job Requirements
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases
  • Knowledge of operating and maintaining equipment such as farming equipment, construction equipment, trucks, boats, or small motor equipment
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving)

    This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non‑pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.

    Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

    All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
