Key Responsibilities:
Leads preparation of detailed cost estimates for MEP systems from concept through design development and construction documents, and establishes MEP estimating approach, major assumptions, and clarification documentation for those scopes.
Reviews drawings and specifications to identify design intent, scope gaps, and cost risks, and facilitates scope review meetings with MEP trade partners and reconciles differences in proposals.
Coordinates with design consultants, trade partners, and internal teams to validate MEP pricing, constructability, and value options, and works closely with the preconstruction team to align MEP costs with logistics, phasing, and schedule assumptions.
Performs system cost comparisons, energy and lifecycle cost analyses, and alternative solution evaluations.
Guides and mentors estimators in MEP-specific estimating processes and tools.
Supports procurement strategies, subcontractor selection, and negotiations related to MEP scope, and levels subcontractor bids and recommends scope alignments and preferred vendors.
