Mold Design Engineer

The Mold Design Engineer plays a critical role in the manufacturing and engineering environment by designing and detailing high-quality molds, supporting mold trials, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for individuals who possess strong technical and problem‑solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for innovative mold and container solutions. As a Mold Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating precise CAD designs, developing and maintaining engineering documentation, and driving continuous improvement within the mold development process.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with sales, manufacturing, and global partners to support both pilot and production projects while ensuring design accuracy, efficiency, and quality standards are met.

Professionals in this full-time Mold Design Engineer position will utilize advanced CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Solid Works, to generate detailed 2D and 3D mold designs and modifications. Daily responsibilities include developing and updating mold specifications, preparing bills of materials (BOMs), and supporting the execution of mold trials. The Mold Design Engineer will evaluate design feasibility, adapt customer drawings and samples into production‑ready formats, and inspect final products for compliance with dimensional and quality requirements.

This role also involves maintaining thorough engineering records and revision histories, ensuring technical data is kept up to date. The Mold Design Engineer is an integral member of a collaborative team, working directly with sales representatives, customers, and manufacturing experts to address design challenges, resolve issues, and support smooth transitions from concept to production. Effective communication and documentation are essential, as you will be expected to clearly articulate technical information and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.

Applicants for the Mold Design Engineer role should have either a bachelor’s degree in engineering or at least five years of relevant experience in mold design or a related field. Proficiency in CAD modeling, technical drawing interpretation, and knowledge of geometry and trigonometry are fundamental to performing in this position. The ability to analyze design requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop practical solutions will be critical to your success.
