Overview
Ignition Engineer will be working with small, multi-disciplinary teams to develop Ignition-based solutions for manufacturing clients. Applications range from standalone SCADA applications to full-scale MES/MOM applications across multiple facilities. EOSYS is a member of the Inductive Automation Integrator Program, and we are rapidly growing our Ignition customer base.
Ignition projects typically range from a few weeks up to 6 months. On some projects you may be part of the project commissioning team that goes onsite to the client. This provides visibility into the outcomes of your work and exposure to diverse manufacturing environments such as robotics, automotive assembly, food packaging, and other industries. Opportunities exist to learn new skills, technologies, and advance within the company.
Responsibilities- Develop and configure Ignition-based solutions for manufacturing clients (standalone or MES/MOM integrations).
- Collaborate with small multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule.
- Occasionally join project commissioning teams on site to validate implementations.
- Contribute to learning and expansion of skills and technologies within the company.
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical).
- 5+ years of experience configuring and developing applications using Ignition (by Inductive Automation).
- Proficient in Python and SQL.
- Experience with Ignition Vision and Perspective development environments.
- Experience with OPC UA and MQTT.
- Experience with Ignition Edge and MES/IIoT modules.
- Experience with SQL Databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Maria
DB, Mongo
DB). - Basic knowledge of PLC tag structures and communications.
- Familiarity with working in a manufacturing environment.
- Commissioning and troubleshooting Control Systems.
- Mixed office and industrial environment.
- Extended periods of desk work; may require Personal Protective Equipment on certain sites.
- Extended periods of standing/walking on concrete; kneeling and climbing in some locations.
- Lifting and carrying 25 lbs or more.
- Work at heights (mezzanine levels) and in wash-down areas with wet floors.
- Occasional extended hours, night or non-traditional shifts, and weekend availability as needed.
