As a Radiation Therapist, you'll provide direct patient care within the scope of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. You'll use therapeutic communication, maintain a safe environment, and identify patient needs, planning individualized care with an interdisciplinary approach. You'll also participate in performance improvement activities and contribute to the hospital's mission and vision.
Responsibilities- Assess patient status and their reaction to treatment daily, communicating concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow proper procedures for treatment field verification and approval.
- Fabricate custom treatment devices according to proper procedures.
- Educate patients about radiation therapy treatment procedures.
- Set up and accurately deliver patient treatment based on prescriptions and treatment plans.
- Operate linear accelerators, simulators, CT, and other related equipment safely and effectively.
- Graduation from a school accredited in radiation therapy instruction. An Associate of Science (AS) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree is also acceptable.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (RT[T]).
- One year of experience as a Radiation Therapist is preferred.
- Monday-Friday and flexibility availability needed.
