JobPurpose and Summary
Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team to consistently deliver on our brand promise. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers to deliver an exceptional experience, while the Pharmacy Manager may restrict duties until the Technician completes all necessary registration, licensing, and certification requirements.
Responsibilities- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, offering immunizations, and resolving patient problems.
- Complete inventory activities, including returns-to-stocks and cycle counts, under pharmacy leadership guidance.
- Exhibit a growth mindset, seek feedback, and expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including occasional travel to other stores.
- Comply with all federal, state, local laws and CVS policies related to patient safety, controlled substances, and privacy.
- Optionally deliver additional patient health services such as immunizations and point‑of‑care testing when licensed.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status through state‑board‑mandated licensing and training.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer questions to the pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and report adverse reactions per public health requirements.
- Track and document patient vaccination information.
- Manage and monitor vaccine supplies.
- Compliance with the state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements as per state variations.
- Regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Maintain focus and attention to task detail.
- Provide excellent customer service and team orientation.
- Communicate effectively, using active listening.
- Apply mathematical reasoning to prescription calculations.
- Resolve problems, identify optimal solutions.
- Meet physical demands such as lifting, reaching, and precise machine use.
- Perform any other tasks directed by a supervisor or manager.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Willingness to work the home store and travel to other locations as needed.

Pay Range$16.00 – $24.00 per hour (base rate; excludes commutations and overtime).
