Robotic Welding Technician and Operator - 2nd Shift

Join Ideal Tridon Group as a Robotic Welding Technician and Operator in our Smyrna, Tennessee plant. Work the 2nd shift (3:30 pm – 12:00 am) Monday through Friday, with overtime on Saturdays as needed.

Base Pay

$25.00/hr – $33.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Setup, maintenance, and operation of robotic welding equipment.
  • Fabricate metallic parts or assemblies using robotic machines.
  • Program, maintain, and troubleshoot welding robots.
  • Implement robotic welding into production.
  • Select and change tools per SOP.
  • Apply welding fundamentals, understand AWS symbols, and interpret blueprints.
  • Perform visual inspection to confirm correct weld path.
  • Select welding parameters, procedures, and programs.
  • Create and modify welding programs and calculate cycle times.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance of robotic and welding equipment.
Job Requirements
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of automation equipment, processes, and systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Adapt quickly to technology changes.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Safe lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for handling clamps, parts, and controls.
  • Basic computer skills (email, Excel, time‑keeping systems).
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Certification or coursework in robotics and/or welding (preferred).
  • Associate’s degree in welding or robotics (preferred).
  • Must clear drug screen and background check.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to relocate before starting.
Training Requirements

Hi‑Lo Certification.

Work Environment

Work in a loud, noisy, and congested environment, exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, and welding fumes. Protective clothing is required; eye, ear, and burn protection mandatory.

Physical Demands

Frequent walking, use of hands and fingers for handling parts, lifting and moving up to 70 lbs., and occasional heavy lifting (up to 200 lbs.) with coworker assistance.
