AESC is expanding its footprint in the United States with gigafactories in Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee to meet the growing demand for EV and BESS batteries and strengthen its presence in the North American market. AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational since 2012, produces batteries for Nissan. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules.
The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant. AESC is committed to our local communities where it is making its investments, creating jobs, and supporting local charities.
AESC is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to work on the weekend night shift (Friday - Sunday). As a Maintenance Technician (Multi-craft Controls Technician) at one of our state‑of‑the‑art battery gigafactories in Smyrna, TN, Bowling Green, KY, or Florence, SC, you will play a key role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced manufacturing equipment. This position involves hands‑on technical work to ensure optimal operation of machinery, contributing to the smooth production of cutting‑edge electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system (ESS) batteries.
Candidates hired for these early roles will support the installation of new equipment lines and become technical trainers for future hires of the equipment.
- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on all production and facility‑related equipment to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. - Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Respond promptly and safely to equipment breakdowns, diagnose problems, and perform necessary repairs on machinery and equipment, including PLCs, robotics, electrical systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic components. - PLC Programming and Maintenance:
Utilize knowledge of PLC systems to troubleshoot, modify, and create programs for equipment control. Experience with Omron and Siemens PLCs is highly preferred. - Equipment Installation and Support:
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery, providing support to engineering teams during major projects and machine overhauls. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log work orders and maintain maintenance records. - Safety Compliance and Improvement:
Promote a safety‑first culture by following all safety programs and guidelines. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks. - Training and Mentorship:
Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members on equipment operation and maintenance best practices. Develop and write detailed preventive maintenance procedures and schedules. - Continuous Improvement:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing lean manufacturing practices. - Safety Compliance:
