Compensation: $120,000-$150,000
A growing civil construction contractor in the Atlanta metro area is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This role plays a key part in preparing detailed cost estimates and bid packages for civil infrastructure and site development projects.
What you'll do- Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop project cost estimates
- Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Prepare bid proposals, estimate summaries, clarifications, and exclusions
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and project reviews
- Collaborate with operations teams during bid turnover and project startup
- Identify project risks, cost exposures, and opportunities
- Demonstrated experience estimating heavy civil construction projects
- Strong understanding of grading, excavation, utilities, drainage, paving, and sitework
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and bid packages
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu
- Proficiency with Procore
- Proficiency with Heavy Civil Estimating Software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Competitive base salary: $120,000-$150,000
