Lab Assistant-WEO-PEM – Piedmont Eastside, WEO Nights
PEM laboratory is dedicated to providing comprehensive diagnostic services to support patient care at our North and South Campus. The laboratory is equipped with advanced technology across departments including hematology, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, microbiology, and pathology. It is staffed by a multicultural team of highly skilled professionals—Pathologist, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Histologist, Laboratory Tech Assistant, and Laboratory Assistant.
The lab is designed to handle a busy hospital environment, ensuring timely and accurate results for outpatient and inpatient care while emphasizing quality control and patient safety.

The lab is designed to handle a busy hospital environment, ensuring timely and accurate results for outpatient and inpatient care while emphasizing quality control and patient safety.
- Perform sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Perform venipunctures at applicable entities, obtaining/preparing blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
- Assist technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- No experience required.
- 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred.
- Experience in performing EKGs is Preferred.
- Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is Preferred.
- None Required.
- Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is Preferred.
