RN - Med Surg, Part Time Nights, Sign-on Bonus Available up to $5K

Apply for the RN – Med Surg, Part Time Nights role n a 23‑bed Acute Care unit in the Piedmont Eastside Hospital and enjoy a sign‑on bonus of up to $5,000.

Unit Overview
  • 23 bed Acute Care unit serving a general adult patient population.
  • Wide range of illnesses and injuries with varying complexities.
  • Collaborate closely with Physicians, Pharmacists, Physical/Occupational/Speech & Respiratory Therapists.
  • Supported by Charge Nurse, Patient Care Technicians, Unit Secretary (Day), Unit‑Based Educator, and Clinical Manager.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. She functions within the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse maintains standards of practice, coordinates patient care activities of assigned staff, and ensures quality nursing care.

Essential Functions
  • Perform patient assessments, including collection of physical, psychosocial, and health history data.
  • Appropriately evaluate developmental age during assessments, treatments, and education.
  • Organize patient data to formulate a care plan; identify additional information needed and make care decisions.
  • Carry out plan of care to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide care specific to setting, needs, and plan; ensure appropriateness for disease severity, condition, impairment, or disability.
  • Oversee activities of ancillary and support team members.
  • Identify teaching opportunities and provide necessary resources for patient education.
  • Communicate issues or concerns to Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Document patient care and concerns in the patient record.

Qualifications Education
  • Graduate from a nursing program – required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – preferred.
Work Experience
  • No experience required; new graduates of nursing programs eligible.
  • Nursing experience in hospital setting – preferred.
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions – required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN – Registered Nurse, Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure – required.
  • BCLS – Basic Life Support – required.
Additional Licenses and Certifications (Conditional)
  • Advanced certification in specialty, if applicable.
  • Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Dialysis, Emergency Department, Infusion/Oncology, Pediatrics, Surgical Services, Women’s Services – specific certification requirements outlined per unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, BCLS, etc.).
