RN Med Surg, Surgical Unit Part Time Days Sign on Bonus up to $2.5K Schedule is 2 x 12 hour shifts per week Join us at Piedmont Eastside as we continue to grow! We currently have 36 Med/Surg (Surgical Dept.) beds that help meet the complex needs of our community. It’s Time to Get Better at Piedmont!
Management of patients having or requiring:
- General post-surgical management
- Bariatric surgery
- Sepsis
- Pneumonia
- COPD management
- Diabetic management
- Osteomyelitis
- Pancreatitis
The Medical/Surgical unit at Piedmont Eastside uses:
- Bedside report handoff at change of shift
- Purposeful Rounding for safety and service
- Quality initiatives such as pain assessment and reassessment, pressure ulcer prevention, infection prevention strategies for central lines and indwelling urinary catheters, etc.
- Unit educator to help address competency, onboarding, and learning needs
- Charge nurse out of staffing or with limited patient load to facilitate daily operations
- EPIC computer system
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
