RN – Emergency Department (Days – Full Time)

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center – Emergency Department, Duluth, GA.
Join Piedmont Health Care as a Registered Nurse in our busy 38‑bed Emergency Department that sees an average of 160 patients per day. Our ED is a primary Stroke and STEMI receiving facility with thrombolytics, two helicopter pads, and five patient pod areas (including a behavioral health pod). The department works closely with charge nurses, ED flow coordinators, paramedics, ED techs, PCTs, mental health technicians, and unit secretaries.
All staff must hold a BLS certification.
- The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the life cycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff.
- Performs patient assessments, collects data on physical, psychosocial, and health history.
- Evaluates developmental age when performing assessments and education.
- Formulates a plan of care, identifies additional information needed, and makes care decisions; identifies expected outcomes.
- Carries out the plan of care to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provides patient care appropriate to severity of disease, condition, impairment, or disability.
- Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
- Identifies teaching opportunities and provides resources for patient and family education.
- Communicates issues to Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
- Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.

- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
- BLS certification required.
- New graduates eligible.
