An established infrastructure contractor delivering major projects across the UK water sector is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of projects and play a key role in driving commercial success from tender handover through to final account. Working closely with operational, procurement and finance teams, you’ll be responsible for managing costs, maintaining strong commercial controls and ensuring projects are delivered profitably.

The Role
  • Managing the commercial performance of projects from contract award through to final account.
  • Preparing accurate cost reports, forecasts and financial updates.
  • Supporting budget management and ensuring effective cost control throughout project delivery.
  • Managing payment applications and valuations.
  • Administering contracts and managing contractual obligations.
  • Procuring subcontract packages and managing subcontractor accounts.
  • Assessing variations, compensation events and change management processes.
  • Working closely with operational teams to support commercially sound decision-making.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders.
  • Ensuring commercial governance, compliance and reporting standards are achieved.
About You
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial management role.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience preparing cost reports and financial forecasts.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence outcomes.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with in the water, utilities or MEICA sectors would be advantageous.
  • A Quantity Surveying qualification, or equivalent industry experience, is desirable.
