Are you an experienced Civil Engineer looking for a role that offers real purpose and impact?

We're looking for an Engineer to join our Civils team, working on vital water infrastructure projects that make a genuine difference to people's lives across the South East.

This is a chance to use your expertise to help us deliver safe, clean drinking water to our customers, from the very beginning of a project to its successful completion. You'll be part of a supportive team, working on exciting, varied projects and shaping your own technical deliverables.

Main Responsibilities
  • Review and check project scopes to make sure they'll achieve the right outcomes.
  • Provide technical solutions and support on capital projects, producing key documents like design drawings, CDM documents, and job specification packs.
  • Check other people's work for technical quality.
  • Mentor our brilliant Graduate Civil Engineers and apprentices, helping them to grow and develop their skills.
  • Liaise with both internal and external teams to get project approvals.
  • Visit sites to carry out audits and provide guidance to contractors.
What you'll need Skills / Qualifications / Experience
  • An HNC, HND, or degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Experience in a similar Civil Engineer role, with the ability to manage your own deliverables.
  • A strong awareness and understanding of industry standards and specifications.
  • A solid understanding of CDM 2015 and how to apply it to projects.
  • Experience in the design, construction, or maintenance of infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
Grow a career with a meaningful purpose.

We know the communities we serve are diverse. We recognise creativity comes from diversity not similarity. That’s why we are enthusiastic about creating inclusion across age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion and identity. You will experience our dedication to equal opportunities and fair treatment for all: through your recruitment, employment and career progression with South East Water.

Benefits package:
  • Excellent Stakeholder pension scheme, up to 10% employer contribution.
  • 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays per annum, increasing to 6 weeks with length of service.
  • Flexible annual leave policy to buy or sell holiday leave.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Health cash plan.
  • Life assurance.
  • Wellbeing related benefits.
What can you expect from your recruitment?
  • It is necessary for you to have the legal right to work in the UK when you begin employment with South East Water.
  • Additionally, as part of the employment offer, you will need to pass background, identity, and employment referencing checks.
