Salary:
Up to £27,000
Alexander Steele are recruiting two Quality Technicians to join a global manufacturing operation. These roles support the delivery of safe, high‑quality products by carrying out quality checks, audits, and technical assessments across all stages of production.
Both day shift and night shift options are available (4 on / 4 off).
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out daily GMP audits across production, warehouse, and site facilities.
* Conduct regular checks on packing lines to ensure products meet all specifications.
* Verify machinery performance including weight checkers, metal detectors, and other quality‑critical equipment, ensuring calibration and accuracy.
* Confirm correct date coding, labelling, and customer‑specific requirements on all finished goods.
* Maintain traceability through accurate sampling, testing, and documentation of daily production.
* Inspect raw materials and packaging for quality and compliance; support technical reviews of suppliers where required.
* Perform ongoing quality checks across production such as weight, seal integrity, barcodes, best‑before dates, film alignment, case coding, and other specification requirements.
* Take immediate corrective action when deviations are identified, and record findings appropriately.
* Complete all quality paperwork accurately and on time.
* Support end‑of‑batch reconciliation including materials, packaging, and finished stock.
* Work closely with production teams to help meet schedules, reduce waste, and maintain high standards.
* Keep work areas clean, tidy, and compliant with hygiene expectations.
* Assist in training colleagues once fully competent in relevant procedures.
* Support investigations into non‑conformances and help drive corrective actions.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by management.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
* Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
* Numerate, literate, and confident completing documentation.
* Basic IT skills.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a QA or food manufacturing role.
* Knowledge of HACCP principles or Food Hygiene certification.
* Experience with production audits or technical checks
