A leading heavy process manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Technician to join its engineering team at a large industrial production site near Maidstone, Kent.

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and continuous improvement activities across a range of heavy industrial plant and equipment.

• Mechanical maintenance of process machinery and site services.
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Fault finding and breakdown response.
• Repair and overhaul of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Supporting shutdown and project work.
• Using SAP CMMS to record maintenance activities.
• Identifying reliability improvements and engineering solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with site health and safety and environmental standards.

• Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
• 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent) to include level C or above in Maths and English.
• Experience in a manufacturing, process, production, recycling, paper, steel, chemical, cement, power generation or other heavy industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.

• Monday to Friday days (plus call out rota).
