Position Overview

The
Parent Educator (Newborn & Postpartum Specialist)will provide expert
education, coaching, and emotional support
to parents, with a special focus on
newborns and the postpartum period
. This is an ideal role for someone whose
true passion lies in working with parents of infants
, but who also feels confident supporting parents of children at different stages of development when needed.

This role is perfect for someone who deeply understands the
early parenthood experience
, including
infant bonding, newborn sleep, feeding, and postpartum mental health
.

Responsibilities
  • Provide
    one-on-one coaching and group education
    on newborn care, parent-infant bonding, and postpartum well-being through
    telehealth and in-person workshops
    .
  • Offer
    evidence-based guidance on infant sleep, feeding, soothing techniques, attachment, and early developmental milestones
    .
  • Support parents in
    adjusting to postpartum life
    , including self-care, emotional well-being, and navigating family transitions.
  • Facilitate
    workshops and support groups
    for new parents, covering newborn care, postpartum recovery, early childhood development, and parenting older children as needed.
  • Engage with the community
    by delivering
    workshops and educational sessions through multiple platforms
    , including
    live virtual sessions, in-person classes, and recorded content
    .
  • Educate parents on
    infant mental health, trauma-informed parenting, and the importance of responsive caregiving
    .
  • Provide
    guidance to parents with children of all ages
    when needed, recognizing that many families return for support as their children grow.
  • Utilize
    evidence-based parenting programs
    (such as Triple P, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Promoting First Relationships) in sessions.
  • Collaborate with the WFWS team to
    continuously improve services
    based on parent feedback and evolving research.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in
    Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, Family Studies, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Specialized experience in
    infant and postpartum care
    , parent coaching, or early childhood intervention.
  • Certifications in evidence-based parenting programs (
    Incredible Years (IY), Triple P, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Promoting First Relationships (PFR)) are highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of
    infant mental health, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care
    .
  • Experience working with
    diverse families, including first-time parents, NICU graduates, and families navigating postpartum challenges
    .
  • Passion for the newborn and postpartum period
    , with the ability to also provide guidance for parents of older children when needed.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and
    non-judgmental coaching skills
    .
  • Comfortable using
    telehealth platforms
    and digital tools for remote sessions.
Compensation

$30 - $45 hourly
