Substitute teachers work on an as‑needed basis during the school year to fill in for classroom teachers in a variety of grade levels and content areas. Assignments vary by school and student need. To stay active in the substitute pool, accepting two jobs per month is generally expected. If availability is limited, please keep us in the loop.

• Daily Rate: $215.00
• Long‑Term (21‑44 consecutive days): $230.00
• Extended Long‑Term (45+ consecutive days): $260.00

• Full‑day assignments:
  Typically 7.5 hours
• Half‑day assignments:
  Typically 3.75 hours
• Some assignments may be shorter than a full day if the teacher's position is less than 1.0 FTE.
• Fridays are shortened district‑wide due to Professional Growth Fridays (PGF). Most Friday schedules are approximately 2 hours shorter than Monday‑Thursday.

Example schedules (start and end times may vary slightly by school):

• Elementary: ~8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Mon‑Thurs); ~8:00 AM – 1:30 PM (Fri)
• Middle/High School: ~7:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Mon‑Thurs); ~7:00 AM – 12:30 PM (Fri)

To be successful in this role, you should be available to accept same‑day assignments between 5:00‑7:00 AM.

• Hold a valid Washington State teaching certificate
• Be willing and available to accept assignments, including on short notice
• Meet the qualifications listed in the job description (see attached file)
