Schedule:

Monday–Thursday 8:50 a.m.–3:50 p.m. (one 15‑min paid break & one 30‑min unpaid meal break). Friday 8:50 a.m.–1:50 p.m. (one 15‑min paid break). Weekly hours: 31. Wage: $26.66–$31.19 per hour (2025‑26 PSE Schedule).

PSE PARA – ELEMENTARY M-FPosition Summary

Under the direction of a certificated teacher, this position is primarily instructional but limited to work within a special education self‑contained setting (individually or in small groups). The para educator will also assist with behavior and personal hygiene issues of high‑needs special education students.

Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meeting WA State para educator requirements: (choose one)
    • Pass a certification assessment approved by the Para educator Board.
    • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
    • Earn 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher.
    • Complete an apprenticeship as a para educator in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
  • Upon hire, provide a copy of a high‑school diploma or transcripts and official post‑secondary transcripts.
