Salary: $55,836 - $75,108 Yearly. The salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.
The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is accepting applications for a Religious Coordinator to plan, organize, lead, and direct all aspects of the religious/spiritual programs and services at Echo Glen, a Juvenile Rehabilitation institution. You will direct and manage all religious services for the facility and manage Religious Property and Religious Diets.

Responsibilities- Maintain knowledge of the Federal/State laws and departmental policies governing the delivery of religious programs for residents.
- Support the religious needs of persons of all religious faiths; provides for the protection of the residents’ constitutional guarantee of religious freedom.
- Develop and conduct religious orientation for all newly arrived residents.
- Schedule and coordinate religious groups and meetings on campus and maintain callouts for religious programs.
- Maintain knowledge of different religious needs pertaining to baptism, marriage, births, death, Holidays, customs, and grieving.
- Ensure that policy and safety protocols are implemented and adhered to by youth and personnel participating in the program.
- Assist in the evaluation of overall effectiveness of the religious program and make appropriate recommendations for improvement.
- Manage, train, and work with religious volunteers, volunteer clergy, and contract chaplains, and provide religious/ spiritual program training for facility staff on specific faith group beliefs, practices, and other religious issues.
- Conduct worship, educational, pastoral, and administrative services.
- Review, process, and coordinate requests for religious diets as needed.
- Ensure volunteers and providers complete required trainings, background checks and paperwork prior to working with any youth.
- Three years’ experience working as minister or mini stress, priest, rabbi, imam, Latter Day Bishop, shaman, or other religious leader of a nationally recognized faith and endorsed for chaplaincy by, and in good standing with, a nationally recognized religious body.

Skills and Abilities
- Experience working with adolescents or young people (ideally in a residential, correctional, rehabilitation, or institutional setting) – given the juvenile rehabilitation setting, this helps ensure the candidate understands youth developmental issues, institutional culture, and the specific challenges of 24/7 secure environments.
- Ability to establish rapport and provide counseling to individuals under severe emotional strain, including youth in a secure institutional setting.
- Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma‑informed care, behavioral issues in institutional settings, and rehabilitation modalities.
- Ability to develop, administer, supervise, and evaluate programs and volunteer or contractual clergy services in a 24/7 institution.
