Compensation: $44.60-$71.06
Shift: 3 days 12 hour shifts
Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Imaging Lead, performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment and initiative.
Essential Job Functions- Must be able to accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
- CT technologists utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
- The imaging manager is contacted regarding equipment malfunctions, supply requests and any unusual situations that depart from standard policies and procedures.
- The technologist acts in accordance with hospital policies with high degree of professional ethics and conduct. Discretion must be used in several areas such as patient care and scheduling.
- Staff member will be responsible for the care of patients of all ages. Each staff member will rely on his/her past experiences, as well as their professional training with the geriatric and pediatric patient, to meet these standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned, some of which may be essential to the position.
- Attend routine and mandatory meetings and in-services as required for this position.
Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree (Bachelor of Science preferred).
ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of hospital-based experience with CT/X‑Ray procedures.
License/CertificationCertification by the State Department of Licensing and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T. and CRT). CT certification is preferred but not required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT ARRT). CPR certification by the American Heart Association must be maintained throughout employment.
