Salary: $4,653 - $5,398 Monthly. This salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.

The Opportunity:We need your trades experience to perform a variety of semi-skilled sub-journey work at Echo Glen Children’s Center. You will work in the maintenance, repair, remodeling, alterations, and construction of buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment. If you have a background in one of these skills, come join us at DCYF and put your strengths to use at Echo Glen Children’s Center.
Someof what you will do:
- Perform minor repairs on building fixtures, plumbing, heating, laundry, kitchen equipment, motors, and electrical appliances.
- Perform semi-skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, steam fitting, electrical, mechanical and machinist work.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment as needed.
- May assist in the fabrication of equipment and materials constructed in trade shops in accordance with project requirements.
Two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.
- The ability to take action to learn and grow.
- The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
A current Washington State driver’s license.
In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:- Knowledge of practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in mechanical trades; safety precautions.
- Ability to work from verbal descriptions, blueprints, construction drawings, plans, and sketches; estimate materials and time needed to complete the assigned job.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, clients, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of the position.
