Salary: $4,653 - $5,398 Monthly. This salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.

The Opportunity:

We need your trades experience to perform a variety of semi-skilled sub-journey work at Echo Glen Children’s Center. You will work in the maintenance, repair, remodeling, alterations, and construction of buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment. If you have a background in one of these skills, come join us at DCYF and put your strengths to use at Echo Glen Children’s Center.

Some

of what you will do:
  • Perform minor repairs on building fixtures, plumbing, heating, laundry, kitchen equipment, motors, and electrical appliances.
  • Perform semi-skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, steam fitting, electrical, mechanical and machinist work.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment as needed.
  • May assist in the fabrication of equipment and materials constructed in trade shops in accordance with project requirements.
What we are looking for:

Two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.

  • The ability to take action to learn and grow.
  • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

A current Washington State driver’s license.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
  • Knowledge of practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in mechanical trades; safety precautions.
  • Ability to work from verbal descriptions, blueprints, construction drawings, plans, and sketches; estimate materials and time needed to complete the assigned job.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, clients, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of the position.
