QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Obtain Wastewater Plant Operator C or Water Plant C Certification within two years of employment;
Class D Water & Wastewater in one year.
EXPERIENCE:
None required for entry into this position.
KNOWLEDGE:
Principles and practices applied to the operation and maintenance of pump and treatment process equipment. Proper licensing expected as necessary to perform duties.
SKILLS:
Read meters, gauges and scales; operation of related equipment.
ABILITY:
Inspect plant machinery equipment in operation and detect flaws and defects in equipment. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, with unrestrictive use of hands and fingers. Must be able to bend, stoop and climb stairs. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme cold and heat and be exposed to sunlight.
Requires a command of the English language and the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and City Officials.
Minimum Expectations:
Good attendance, working assigned schedule, compliance with timekeeping requirements, ability to stay on task and work well with others, follow all policies and procedures of The City of Snyder.
