Position Summary:

The Cement Pump Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining high-pressure pumping equipment used in oilfield well cementing operations. This role plays a critical part in the successful execution of cement jobs, ensuring equipment is operated safely and efficiently in the field.

  • Safely operate cement pump and related equipment (e.g., blender, bulk equipment, lines, valves) during cementing operations.
  • Rig up and rig down equipment at job sites in accordance with company and customer safety standards.
  • Perform pre- and post-job maintenance on pumping equipment and ensure all systems are functional.
  • Mix and pump slurries according to specified job designs.
  • Monitor gauges and adjust equipment to maintain proper flow rate and pressure during cementing operations.
  • Assist in job setup, load/unload bulk and liquid materials, and maintain inventory on location.
  • Complete accurate job logs, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and maintenance records.
  • Comply with DOT, OSHA, HSE, and company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, service supervisors, and field engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Education, Experience, and

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of experience in oilfield cementing operations preferred.
  • CDL Class A or B with tanker and air brake endorsements strongly preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions:
  • Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
  • The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels and demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
  • Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
