Overview

Job Title: Deputy Title IX Coordinator

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Title IX Coordinator, the Deputy Title IX Coordinator partners with the Title IX Coordinator to respond to complaints of sexual misconduct, as defined under the University's Policy on Nondiscrimination Based on Sex and Gender, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct. The Deputy will conduct Title IX workshops and presentations for the campus community, including training for mandatory reporters. There will be a focus on partnering and collaborating with the Athletics department.

As a member of the larger staff in Student Life, the Deputy Title IX Coordinator collaborates and cooperates to create leadership and intercultural competence opportunities to support student learning and development in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs REPS (Resources, Education, Prevention and Support) Initiative, leading all sexual violence prevention and education efforts campus-wide by providing ongoing consultation and technical assistance on Title IX for all campus constituents; develop and disseminate educational materials and trainings tailored for faculty, staff, and students. Annually trains around 3,000 students and conducts over 50 workshops a year for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Conducts annual orientation training, student leader and student-athlete training, and student leader training.
  • Hires and supervises REPS student interns annually. Provides oversight on projects, organizes meetings, and supports student development to serve the REPS / Title IX mission.
  • Responsible for Title IX and REPS related communications including managing email communications, ongoing social media presence and producing office marketing and awareness to the campus.
  • Develops and facilitates training for all university responsible employees/mandated reporters.
  • Serves as Chair for REPS Advisory Board, collaborating with students, faculty and staff, and local community to conduct education and prevention efforts and periodic review of climate and culture.
  • Develops and facilitates innovative programming for the University s on and off campus student communities in partnership with student leaders and the Office of Community Living.
  • Works in collaboration with campus partners to assist individuals who are experiencing issues that may be impeding their academic success, or extracurricular involvement.
  • Identifies training needs for faculty, staff, and students as reflected by issues, situations or complaint trends.
  • Maintain records relating to curriculum development, delivery, and completion.
  • Conducts annual assessment related to training with orientation, and athletics and other areas as deemed necessary. Supports campus climate data collection related to sexual violence prevalance in specific schools, or University-wide.
  • Collaborates with campus offices and partners including Athletics, Center for Academic and Student Achievement, the Office of the General Counsel, Human Resources, Office of Student Conduct Rights and Responsibilities, and the Department of Public Safety to review or investigate any reported Title IX-related incident and subsequent related sexual violence prevention or education measures.
  • Serves as the main conduit between the Athletics Department and Title IX Office, providing policy oversight and implementation, communication, and support. and ongoing training to student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Assists the Title IX Coordinator in managing all reports of sex and gender discrimination, including sexual harassment and sexual misconduct.
  • Assists the Title IX Coordinator in creating and implementing University policy, and updating policy in line with state and federal laws.
  • Serve as acting Title IX Coordinator in the absence of Title IX Coordinator.
