Adjuncts / Lecturer Faculty (Part-time) for Undergraduate Accounting
Location:
University of San Francisco, Hilltop Campus, 2130 Fulton Street, San Francisco, California. This position requires in-person teaching at the specified location.
- Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes; implement the student performance objectives listed on the official course outline of record.
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, readings, assignments, assessments, and other learning resources.
- Deliver effective lectures, case analyses, simulations, and other engaging learning activities.
- Facilitate inclusive classroom discussions.
- Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives; provide timely feedback to student inquiries in class, online, or during office hours.
- Maintain current records of course enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes; submit data and reports related to course and student progress.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with full-time faculty; order materials as needed to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain student grades and required records or reporting materials.
- Stay current on developments in the discipline and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Offer weekly office hours for advising and assistance to students (at least 1 hour per course section).
- Advise students on lifelong learning resources and effective study skills; refer students to support services as appropriate.
- A Master’s degree in a related management/business discipline, or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent professional experience.
- Understanding of the relationship between professional expertise, social justice, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Relevant teaching experience or demonstrable ability to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Knowledge of instructional methods for individuals and groups, and assessment of learning.
- Planning and organizational skills to implement the curriculum and fulfill duties and expectations.
- Oral and written communication skills in English appropriate for teaching and collaboration.
- Awareness of contemporary concerns in the discipline and an interpersonal orientation that fosters productive interactions with students and colleagues.
The course description is as follows: BUS 321 - Intermediate Accounting II;
Unit:
4. Theory and practice underlying income measurement and the determination of financial position of business entities. Principles of accounting applicable to long-term liabilities, stockholders’ equity, cash flows, and reporting issues.
