Elementary Teacher - Parkview Elementary

To help students reach maximum cognitive, affective, psychomotor development; and goal-setting development and to help each student demonstrate competencies as defined by local, state and national statements of student outcomes, specifically the New Mexico Content Standards and Benchmarks.

• Teach reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music to pupils in a classroom, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education.
• Instruct pupils in citizenship and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and provide individualized and/or small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
• Evaluate pupils' academic growth, keep appropriate records, prepare timely progress reports, and report cards.
• Identify pupils' needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils with physical, social, and academic needs.
• Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays and bulletin boards.
• Maintain professional competence through educational activities, workshops, university credit courses.
• Participate in the selection and requisition of books, instructional materials, and supplies; maintain required inventory records.
• Supervise pupils in out-of‑classroom activities as assigned during the work day.
• Administer group standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program.
• Participate in faculty committees as assigned.
• Participate in curriculum development programs as required.
• Integrate the use of educational technology into the instructional program as appropriate.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree (required).
• Experience:
  
  Preferred – at least three years of teaching experience in a similar position.
• License:
  Valid New​ Mexico Public Education Elementary Teaching License with endorsement in the appropriate content area.

• Standing: 60% of the time
• Walking: 35% of the time
• Sitting: 5% of the time
• Inside: 95% of the workday;
  Outside: 5%
• Physical activity: daily requirement of standing, walking, and classroom tasks, including repetitive hand movements, lifting lightweight items, and climbing ladders as needed.

This position will be paid according to the Teacher Salary
