Job Summary:

The McGrath Scholars Program of the Change the World From Here Institute develops critically aware and goal-oriented system thinkers who are motivated to change their communities for the common good. The program facilitates and nurtures leaders who practice cooperative, collaborative and inclusive leadership; engage in both courageous and compassionate action; cultivate changes in values by re-framing and reinterpreting situations, and practice contemplative self-reflection.

Position Description

This Instructor facilitates 11 classroom experiences of enrolled students in the program. Responsible for planning, preparing, and instructing the course with direction and support from the Program Director. Fosters a vibrant, welcoming, inclusive environment that respects the diversity within the USF community and collaborates with Peer Mentors to support a transformational student experience.

Specific Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and facilitate programming for students interested in becoming socially responsible leaders through the vision and mission of the Change the World From Here Institute.

Course Instruction:

Collaborate with the Program Director to design/implement curriculum and activities that align with the program's goals of personal growth, leadership development, and social change.

Develop and adapt content to meet the diverse needs of the student population, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.

Grading:

Take responsibility for grading all course assignments and projects using course rubrics and provide feedback for students/teams to review.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership) required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in facilitation, leadership development, or related fields, preferably in a collegiate setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead group activities and discussions, manage group dynamics, and mentor individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and inspire a diverse group of students.
  • Familiarity with the university environment and the needs of students, faculty, and staff is preferred.
