Qualifications

Other information:
One to three years experience or Clinical Fellowship eligible. Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology and have or qualify to obtain a Certificate of Clinical Competence. BLS Required.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of speech, language, communication, cognition, hearing and dysphasia disorders.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the life span of patients served.
  • Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet physical, psychosocial, cognitive and environmental well-being of the patient.
  • Requires detailed knowledge of speech and language pathology, interpretation of data.
  • Basic computer skills; basic understanding of rules and regulations of the setting.
  • Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve independence.
  • Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Coordinates discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
  • Is a patient advocate.
  • Other duties as assigned. Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community-based care, and home health care.
