High School Diploma or GED

School bus driving experience

Possess or obtain a CDL. State of New Mexico Driver's License. Training will be conducted by SCS- SBDI Trainer.

• Obey all traffic laws.
• Observe all mandatory state safety and school bus driving regulations.
• Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
• Report undisciplined students to the proper authority.
• Keep assigned bus clean.
• Keep to assigned schedule.
• Complete a daily pre-maintenance check before driving the bus.
• Notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharge students only at authorized stops.
• Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips and daily bus route.
• Transport only authorized students.
• Report all accidents and complete required reports.
• Enforce regulations against tobacco use and eating on the bus.
• Pass a DOT Physical.
• Must be trained in First Aid/CPR & Defensive Driving. Attend all mandatory trainings.
