Shipping Agency Operator​/Boarding Agent

In line with our commitment to supporting clients in key geographical areas, we have decided to open a new office in Sohar, Oman. We have completed the paperwork regarding the license and authorizations for foreign investors and are now ready to launch business operations.

We are seeking a Junior Shipping Operator / Boarding Agent with a minimum of three years of experience to join our soon-to-open branch in Sohar. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting vessels and shipowners with all formalities and requirements associated with port calls, acting as both Vessel/Cargo Agent and Husbandry Agent. This role requires full independence in all vessel call procedures, working in coordination with the Operations Manager.

The selected junior operator will be responsible for providing comprehensive assistance with all typical shipping agency operations, including the following:

• Arrival and departure procedures
• Inward/outward clearance
• Liaising with local authorities
• Certificate renewal
• Bill of Lading arrangement and release
• Crew changes
• CTM (Cash to Master)
• Spare parts delivery and clearance coordination
• Coordinating bunker deliveries
• Spare parts handling coordination
• Other related tasks as required

• At least three years of relevant experience in the same role
• Excellent knowledge of shipping procedures in Sohar, including practices required by the Harbor Master
• Strong understanding of the international logistics market and services
• Excellent spoken and written English (IELTS 7.0 or C1 level)
• Ability to work in dynamic situations under strict deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to work on shifts or under pressure

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential
• English is predominantly used in this position; outstanding spoken and written English is required
• A Bachelor’s degree is considered a plus in the selection process
