OpportunityFull-time position reporting to Stantec’s Solana Beach, CA office. Position is eligible for remote hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities- Guide projects through the federal environmental permitting processes from constraints analysis/scoping through regulatory consultations to environmental certification (FONSI or ROD).
- Oversee preparation of environmental permit applications with various federal and state agencies for a variety of project types/sizes.
- Manage the project or task team (office‑ and field‑based) and their assignments, deliverables, files and administrative record, safety program, subconsultants and their contracting process, client expectations; monitor and review project contracts, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
- Good organizational skills, multitasking capabilities and attention to detail.
- Strong technical writing, analytical and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet firm deadlines.
- Ability to acquire background clearance sufficient to gain entry to military installations and/or controlled access facilities.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Pre‑employment drug screen required; preferred.
- Experience with environmental analysis and permitting for military projects (Navy, Marine Corps, Air National Guard, Coast Guard, Air Force, etc.) or projects for other federal government entities on Federally‑owned lands.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology, Chemistry, Community/Urban Planning, or a closely related field.
- Master’s Degree in any of the fields above preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of related work experience, with demonstrated task lead experience.
- Ability to obtain IAW NISPOM security clearance.
