Overview
VP, Human Resources at LENZ Therapeutics is the senior leadership role responsible for day-to-day and strategic HR planning to recruit, develop and retain employees, and for driving company culture through meaningful actions that harness engagement across LENZ teams.
This role serves as a trusted advisor/coach to employees and managers, and develops programs addressing group dynamics, career development, leadership style, employee relations, and growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership & Advisory:
Act as senior level HR advisor for the Leadership team on human resources issues; establish credibility as a professional who is an effective listener and problem solver at all levels; evaluate and advise on long-range planning of new programs and strategies to attract, motivate, develop and retain resources. - Talent Management & Development:
Assess organizational and professional needs of employees and managers; develop staffing strategies and implementation plans to identify talent for open positions; develop and implement tools and systems to enhance leadership programs. - Compensation & HR Programs:
Develop progressive compensation programs; continually assess competitiveness of programs against relevant companies and markets; plan, develop, implement, administer and audit the HR function including policies, compensation and benefits, employment, training, employee relations and regulatory compliance; public company experience at the executive level;
Compensation Committee experience is a plus. - Operations & Cross-Functional Partnership:
Partner with Finance to ensure consistent HR administration aligned with corporate controls and programs; some travel required; office-based role.
- 10+ years HR experience with at least 5 years in a public company.
- Proficient in leading HR functions with emphasis on employee relations, communication, talent management, succession planning, and career development.
- Demonstrated skills in conducting training and development programs and linking organizational development to business strategy.
- Strong working knowledge of current legal & compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage corporate resources and budget to support employee productivity.
- HRIS proficiency; data accuracy required.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- BA/MA/MBA or equivalent in HR with more than 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in a lead HR role.
- Certification in HR (PHR, SPHR, SHRM) and/or OD a plus.
- Public company bio/pharmaceutical experience required.
Works in an office environment. May sit at a desk for long periods, answer phones, and use a keyboard. Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. Noise level is usually low to moderate. Flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Frequent out-of-town travel may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
SalaryRange
- $300,000 - $350,000 per year
