Overview
Kenai Peninsula College in Soldotna is accepting applications for a Term Biology Instructor/Assistant Professor. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by teaching foundational biology courses, mentoring students, and contributing to the growth of our academic community.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Biology Instructor/Assistant Professor, you will teach 100/200 level biology courses through both face-to-face and distance delivery formats, including day and evening classes. Additional responsibilities include providing community and university service, holding weekly office hours, and mentoring students interested in biology. You will also play an active role in supporting the department’s mission and the broader goals of the university.
Qualifications- Experience teaching introductory biology courses at an accredited institution of higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to teach both in-person and online.
- Familiarity with learning management systems such as Blackboard is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- A graduate degree in Biology or a closely-related field is required.
- Successful applicants must provide official transcripts documenting academic credentials required for the position as a condition of employment.
This position is located on the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna. This is a full-time, 9-month term faculty position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Salary is based upon level of academic appointment, applicable academic preparation and experience.
