11 Month Contract (Maternity Cover, Immediate start).

Our client is a market leader, part of a global plc, and has a number of heavy industrial and engineering, manufacturing sites nationally; they are looking for a Payroll Administrator at their Head Office, (reporting to the Payroll Manager), to cover maternity leave on a temporary 11-month basis.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the production of current payroll, insuring compliance with statutory regulations and requirements (HMRC, GDPR etc)
  • Responsible for submission of weekly and monthly payroll and completion of appropriate documentation
  • Validation of input documentation, reporting back discrepancies
  • Validation of output documentation prior to final payments
  • Maintenance and updating employee records
  • Maintenance and updating SAP
  • Suggestions for continuous improvements to processes
Ideal Applicant
  • Educated to a minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent in English and Maths/HND/BTEC/Degree in Business Studies or similar.
  • Knowledge of statutory HMRC regulations essential
  • Experience of previous administrative and payroll duties
  • Self‑motivated and the ability to influence others to achieve deadlines
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, face to face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Detail conscious, accurate and methodical
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Mail
  • Ability to manage a high workload: good organisational and prioritising skills, with the ability to multi‑task and be flexible
  • Ability to problem solve and make rational, logical recommendations
  • Confidentiality and discretion are paramount
  • Excellent command of English
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals desirable
