Overview
The Site Manager will be responsible for managing the safe delivery of HV electrical infrastructure and EV charging projects, from the construction stage through to commissioning, handover and final adoption.
The role will act as the Principal Contractor under CDM 2015, taking responsibility for site activities, subcontractors, safety, quality, programme delivery and stakeholder management.
This is a specialist HV Site Manager requirement rather than a general construction/retrofit Site Manager. The existing GFS profile covers general construction delivery, CDM, contractor management and programme responsibilities, but this requirement needs much stronger HV electrical experience. The existing profile, for example, focuses on PAS
2030/PAS
2035, MCS, Gas Safe and Building Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage 11kV and 33kV HV construction works, including cable installation, jointing, substations, earthing systems and commissioning.
Oversee LV and EV charging infrastructure, including feeder pillars, distribution boards, cabling, connections and energisation.
Manage associated civil engineering works, including excavations, ducting, chambers, foundations, reinstatement, fencing and drainage.
Ensure projects comply with CDM 2015, Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, permits, NERS requirements and relevant
E.ON/NGED Electrical Safety Rules.
Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams, ensuring works are delivered safely and to programme.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, technical handover and NERS adoption documentation.
Manage permits to work, isolations, outages and other activities within permit-controlled HV environments.
Act as the key site contact for
E.ON, DNOs, clients, highways authorities, landowners and other stakeholders.
Maintain high standards across health & safety, quality, compliance and site documentation. Essential
Previous Site Manager experience delivering HV electrical infrastructure projects.
Proven experience delivering NERS projects through to adoption.
Strong knowledge and practical experience of 11kV and 33kV distribution networks.
Experience managing HV cable installation, jointing, substations, earthing systems and commissioning.
Experience delivering LV infrastructure and/or EV charging projects.
Strong civil engineering and groundworks knowledge, including excavations, ducting, chambers, reinstatement and foundations.
Experience working under CDM 2015 and managing Principal Contractor responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of
E.ON/NGED Electrical Safety Rules.
Experience managing permits to work, switching programmes, isolations and permit-controlled HV environments.
Experience managing subcontractors, site teams, programme delivery and stakeholder relationships.
Strong understanding of health & safety, quality, compliance and site documentation. Essential Qualifications
