About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a major water sector project in the West Midlands, working on behalf of a leading civil engineering and utilities contractor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of works on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Agent with a strong background in water, utilities or civil engineering looking for a long-term freelance opportunity.

Key Responsibilities  
Manage the day-to-day delivery of construction activities on site.
Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the construction programme.
Manage site activities in line with approved RAMS, drawings and specifications.
Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources.
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
Liaise with the client, designers, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
Ensure all works meet the required quality standards and project specifications.
Carry out regular site inspections and ensure appropriate records are maintained.
Lead toolbox talks, briefings and site coordination meetings.
Identify potential programme, technical and construction issues and implement appropriate solutions.
Assist with the management of variations, additional works and other commercial matters.
Maintain accurate site records, diaries, progress reports and other project documentation.
Ensure environmental requirements and site controls are maintained.
Promote a strong health and safety culture across the project.  Experience Required The successful candidate will ideally have:
 
Proven experience as a Site Agent / Site Manager within the water, utilities or civil engineering sector.
Experience delivering infrastructure or water-related projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods and site management procedures.
Experience managing subcontractors and site-based teams.
Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
Experience working within a regulated utilities environment.  Qualifications Essential:
 
SMSTS
CSCS
Relevant construction/site management experience
HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
First Aid.
Water sector experience, particularly working with major UK water companies.
Relevant environmental or utility-sector qualifications
