A specialist fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to support a strong pipeline of fire risk assessment work across the West Midlands.
This is a sub-contract opportunity, suited to a confident and well-qualified Fire Risk Assessor who can deliver detailed, compliant and professional fire risk assessment reports across commercial, industrial and residential properties.
The Fire Risk Assessor's Role
The successful Fire Risk Assessor will carry out fire risk assessments, provide clear verbal recommendations while on site, and produce accurate written reports for the end client.
The Fire Risk Assessor will act as a key point of contact during site visits, representing the consultancy in a professional manner and ensuring clients receive a high standard of service throughout.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include undertaking compliant fire risk assessments, applying current fire safety legislation, maintaining high-quality paperwork, liaising with administrative support teams, and ensuring reports are completed efficiently and to the required standard.
The Fire Risk Assessor
The successful Fire Risk Assessor will have:
Proven experience completing Fire Risk Assessments
Strong knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
A solid understanding of relevant British Standards for fire and life safety systems
Member level accreditation with the IFE or IFSM, or registration on the IFE/IFSM competent risk assessor register
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet reporting deadlines
Experience across commercial, industrial and domestic buildings
Strong IT and electronic reporting skills
A full UK driving licence
Evidence of qualifications and accreditations will be required, alongside examples of previous FRA reports.
Desirable qualifications include fire safety training or certification from recognised providers such as the Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association, or NEBOSH Fire.
