We are looking for a passionate and customer-focused Allocations Advisor to join our Allocations Team at SCH.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in helping people access social housing in Solihull. As an Allocations Advisor, you will deliver a high-quality housing allocations service, ensuring customers receive fair, timely, and supportive assistance throughout their housing journey.

About the Role

As a key member of the Allocations Team, you will:

  • Assess housing and support needs in line with the Council's Housing Allocation Scheme.
  • Support the timely allocation of social housing properties.
  • Carry out viewings and sign-ups for vacant homes throughout Solihull.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues relating to housing applications.
  • Work closely with colleagues and partner organisations to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience handling complex and sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
  • Is able to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.
  • Has an understanding of social housing need, housing services, or wider public sector services.
  • Is organised, customer-focused, and committed to delivering a high standard of service.
  • Works well as part of a team while also being able to manage their own workload effectively.
