My client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this position you will work closely with operational, commercial and finance teams to provide accurate financial reporting, budgeting insight and commercial support across major infrastructure and asset management projects.
You will be joining a well-established organisation within the highways and infrastructure sector, where you will gain exposure to large-scale projects and play a visible role in supporting strategic decision making.

My client is a leading infrastructure and highways specialist operating across the UK and internationally. They are operating in more than 50 countries and employing over 55,000 people, the organisation delivers major construction, highways maintenance and surfacing projects across the infrastructure sector.
What you will be doing
As a Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in financial control and reporting across the business. You will collaborate with operational and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial oversight while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and financial performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Managing contract financial control and reporting to provide clear business insights
· Working closely with project management and commercial teams to ensure fair contract positions are reported
· Overseeing key financial metrics including work in progress, accruals, provisions, risks and opportunities
· Supervising cash flow forecasting and supporting debt collection activities
· Preparing accurate monthly management accounts including quarter and year-end reporting
· Supporting month-end reporting and analysing variances between forecast and actual results
· Ensuring project costs are captured, allocated and reported accurately
· Promoting best financial practices across the organisation
· Influencing financial and operational decision making through credible financial insight
· Ensuring compliance with group accounting policies and financial reporting standards
Skills and experience required
To succeed in this Finance Manager role you will bring strong financial expertise alongside the ability to influence stakeholders across operational and commercial teams.
You will ideally have:
· Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
· Around 5+ years post-qualification experience in a Finance Manager or similar role
· Experience with in construction, infrastructure or engineering environments
· Strong financial analysis, reporting and forecasting capability
· The ability to influence and support both financial and non-financial stakeholders
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Experience working with project or contract financial reporting
Salary and benefits
Salary for this Finance Manager role is dependent on experience, with a guide range of £45,000 - £60,000, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including:
· Company car or car allowance
