Financial Controller

Location: Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

SF Recruitment are recruiting for a permanent Financial Controller for a well-established business based in Solihull.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, up-and-coming finance professional to step into a Financial Controller role, taking ownership of the finance function and working closely with the Managing Director and wider senior leadership team.

The role would suit a hands-on, dynamic finance professional who enjoys working closely with an operational business and wants genuine autonomy and responsibility. You will have broad exposure across management accounts, cashflow, budgeting, financial controls and business partnering, while also supporting the continued growth and development of the business.

The company is ideally looking for a qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA candidate who is keen to develop their career within a broad Financial Controller position. Candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.

Duties include:

Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports

Managing budgeting, forecasting and financial planning

Monitoring cashflow and working capital

Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll activities

Business partnering with operational teams to support commercial decision-making

Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls

Supporting year-end accounts and audit processes

Providing financial insight to the Managing Director to support commercial decision-making

Identifying and implementing improvements to finance systems, processes and reporting

Taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function and ensuring accurate and timely financial information
