MIG/TIG Welder

Pay Rate: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour (DOE)

Job Type: Full-Time | Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder looking to secure a long-term position with a successful and growing business.

Hours of Work
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm
  • Early finish every Friday
  • Full-time hours
The Role

As a MIG/TIG Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components while working from engineering drawings and specifications. You will be working with a variety of metals in a busy fabrication environment, ensuring all work meets quality standards.

Duties Include
  • MIG and TIG welding to a high standard
  • Welding aluminium, zinc, stainless steel, mild steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Fabricating and assembling metal components
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Producing both bespoke and batch work
  • Grinding, linishing and finishing welded products
  • Inspecting completed welds to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience as a MIG/TIG Welder
  • Experience welding aluminium is essential
  • Experience working with zinc, stainless steel, mild steel and other metals is highly desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to long-term work

Successful candidates will be required to complete an on-site practical MIG/TIG weld test as part of the interview process. Only applicants who successfully pass the weld test will be considered for the position.
