Position: Product Developer (Cut & Sew) New England, United Kingdom

We’re looking for a passionate and technically skilled Product Developer (Cut & Sew) to manage the end‑to‑end development of apparel products, ensuring they are delivered on time, to the highest quality standards, and ready to perform for our global community.

Working at the heart of the product creation process, you’ll collaborate closely with Design, Fit, Colour, Raw Materials, Quality, Sourcing, and external manufacturing partners to transform concepts into exceptional finished products. You’ll be responsible for managing the development critical path while driving excellence in garment construction, fit, quality, performance, and sustainability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO.

As a Product Developer, you’ll take ownership of products throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring they meet Gymshark’s technical, commercial, and aesthetic standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the end‑to‑end product development process across your product categories.
  • Own and manage development critical paths, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Take responsibility for garment construction, fit, pattern engineering, and overall product execution.
  • Partner with Design and Technical teams to ensure products achieve the intended aesthetic, fit, functionality, and performance requirements.
  • Coordinate development activities across Colour, Raw Materials, Fit, Quality, Sourcing, and Production teams.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for products within your area of responsibility.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure technical specifications, quality standards, and timelines are met.
  • Ensure products are appropriately tested and comply with legal, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Validate product performance and sustainability claims throughout development.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges proactively to maintain project momentum and minimise delays.
  • Maintain accurate development documentation, including technical packs, sample records, approvals, and sealed samples.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on product status, risks, and key milestones.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across product development processes, systems, and ways of working.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, pattern engineering, and technical product development.
  • Proven experience managing the end‑to‑end product development lifecycle and critical paths.
  • Understanding of colour development, raw materials, fabric technologies, garment testing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of product compliance, safety regulations, sustainability requirements, and industry standards.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with Design, Sourcing, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to product excellence.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience using PLM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong supplier management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with in performance apparel, active wear, sportswear, fashion, or lifestyle brands.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and digital product development tools.
  • Experience working within global sourcing and manufacturing environments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Onsite

Collaboration:

Due to the hands‑on and highly collaborative nature of the work within our Product & Supply Chain team, we have a minimum expectation of FOUR days per week onsite at our Gymshark HQ. This ensures we can work closely together to innovate, problem‑solve, and deliver world‑class products for our community.
