Solihull Council is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Community Engagement Officer to support the delivery of our successful Love Solihull programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work with residents, schools, businesses, volunteers and partner organisations to develop projects that enhance the local environment and strengthen community pride.

About the Role

This is a varied and hugely rewarding role where no two days are the same.

As Community Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in inspiring and supporting local communities to improve their neighbourhoods. You'll develop community projects, coordinate volunteers, deliver educational activities, create engaging communications and support funding bids that help bring environmental initiatives to life across Solihull.

We're looking for someone who can engage and motivate others, build lasting relationships and deliver projects that have a positive impact on local communities.

You will have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant community-based subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of delivering community, educational or engagement projects.
  • Experience of working with partners, volunteers and local communities.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience of creating engaging communications, marketing materials or social media content.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle, as this is an essential car user post.[NF2]

Additional Information

  • Based at the Central Depot, Moat Lane.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support community events and engagement activities.
