Domestic Abuse Service Manager

Location:

Solihull ( Our nearest Waythrough office base is 236 Bristol Road, Birmingham, B5 7SL
. For the day to day activity related to this role, you will be expected to co-locate within Solihull Social Care Offices. )

Working Hours:

37 hours per week Contract Type:
Permanent, Full-time Salary: £35,520 per annum

Please note:

This role is based in Solihull, West Midlands, and requires regular in-person working within designated partner agencies across the area, including Solihull Children’s Social Care. As part of the role, you will work collaboratively alongside partner organisations, so flexibility to work across relevant locations within Solihull is essential. The nearest Waythrough office is located at 236 Bristol Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B5 7SL
. You may also be required to attend this office for induction, training, supervision, team/staff meetings and other organisational activities, as required. Applicants should therefore be able and willing to travel between locations in Solihull and the Birmingham office when required.

The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Service Manager to lead and develop our Domestic Abuse Think Family Service.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the safe and effective delivery of the Domestic Abuse Think Family Service in line with contractual requirements and quality standards.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and practice oversight to a team of Senior Domestic Abuse Practitioners.
  • Support safe and effective work with high-risk, serial and complex domestic abuse cases, including escalation decisions and guidance on risk management.
  • Provide direct interventions to individuals where required, and support professionals to respond robustly to risk assessment requirements and identified risk and harm.
  • Increase safety for victims and survivors through strong safeguarding practice, multi-agency planning and effective case direction.
  • Challenge victim blaming culture and promote best practice across colleagues and partner organisations.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partnership agencies, attending multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategic discussions.
  • Lead and contribute to service development, introducing new ideas, methods and processes that strengthen safe practice and outcomes.
  • Report on service performance and outcomes, including professional report writing and the publication or presentation of data sets, with awareness of national domestic abuse trends.
  • Work flexibly between 09:00 and 17:00, with some evening working during the week, managing your own workload and administration confidently.
Who we’re looking for
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience working within domestic abuse services or settings.
