JobPurpose and Summary
Support pharmacy teams to consistently deliver service excellence. Technicians are often the first point of contact, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds patient expectations. They apply SOPs, best practices and effective communication to contribute to a safe, inclusive culture.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, providing vaccines and other services at the register and over the phone, and escalating patient problems when needed.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts and returns‑to‑stocks.
- Embrace a growth mindset, seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge, and provide feedback to improve team performance.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other stores as required.
- Understand and comply with federal, state, local laws and CVS policies to ensure safety, compliance and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (eg immunizations, point‑of‑care testing).
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain technician immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer to pharmacist for questions.
- Monitor and report adverse reactions.
- Collect and document patient information for each applicable patient.
- Manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education and licensure/certification.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Focus and concentration on tasks, pivot quickly, ensure medication accuracy.
- Customer service orientation, friendly, understanding patient reactions.
- Effective verbal and written communication, active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning for dosage calculations.
- Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best action.
- Physical demands: mobile, lift up to 20 lbs, repetitive finger use, reach overhead.
- 1‑3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and other market locations.

Pay Range$17.00 – $17.00 per hour (base hourly rate; total may vary by experience, location, and other factors).
