Jerpbak Bayless — Solon, Ohio Job Type: Full‑Time

Shift: 1st ShiftA Day in the Life You arrive to a lineup of diverse, tight‑tolerance parts: a mill‑turn prototype in the morning, a 5‑axis production prove‑out after lunch. You review customer prints and Solid Works models, map out strategies in Mastercam, and head to the floor to validate toolpaths, tweak feeds and speeds, and lock in holding strategies. By day’s end, you’ve solved a tricky ACME thread, mentored a machinist on setup documentation, and collaborated with engineering and quality to release a stable, efficient program into production.

What You’ll Tackle Program intricate components for CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam and Smartcam.

Translate Solid Works models and customer drawings into optimized machining plans.

Develop advanced multi‑axis toolpaths: 4‑axis, 5‑axis, and mill‑turn.

Design end‑to‑end processes for prototype and low‑volume work.

Select tooling, work holding, and cutting strategies to balance quality, cost, and cycle time.

Run on‑machine prove‑outs; refine programs and eliminate bottlenecks on the shop floor.

Diagnose machining, tooling, and code issues; implement durable fixes.

Publish setup sheets and tooling documentation to support setup machinists.

Mentor team members and share best practices.

Partner closely with engineering, quality, and production.
